The Santavenere estate is located in the rolling hillsides on the border of Umbria and Tuscany. Being more inland, the vineyards soak in the sunshine and warmer climate, providing riper fruit and unique characteristics that separate this Vino Nobile Sangiovese from its northern Chianti counterpart. For this wine they farm from higher altitude vines that reflect the loam and lime soils with minerality and grittiness throughout the finished wine. 18 months in old oak casks softens the tannin making this a relatively approachable, yet still rustic Vino Nobile that is laced with ripe black raspberry, mint, and violets. 

Pairings: Pork tenderloin with a cinnamon, balsamic, and honey mustard glaze
