Region: Contra Costa County, California, United States Grape(s): Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Mataro, Carignane, and Alicante Bouschet Winemaker: Matt Kline Drinks Best: Now - 3 Years
Winemaker Matt Kline believes three fundamental elements are collectively responsible for the quality of the wine that ends up in the bottle – the soil, the micro-climate in which the grapes are grown, and sustainable vineyard and winery practices. This philosophy is so foundational for Matt that he named his winery ‘Three’ as a constant reminder. He and his wife Erin focus on historical California varietals like Zinfandel, which has thrived in California soil since its arrival in in the early 19th C. Matt’s Zinfandel is ripe & fruit-forward while retaining balance, offering ample plum and blackberry on the nose and palate, along with a smooth, mildly spiced finish.
