Region: Coastal Region, Western Cape, South Africa Grape(s): Chenin Blanc Winemaker: Bruwer Raats Drinks Best: Now - 2 Years
Chenin Blanc is the most widely planted variety in all of South Africa, with many old bush vines yielding high quality fruit. The total acreage under vine surpasses that of the grape’s homeland, the Loire Valley in France. For this cuvée, Bruwer Raats looks to showcase the character of old-vine plots from the Coastal Region to create a beautifully balanced wine that is a pure expression of Chenin Blanc rather than a reflection of a particular vineyard.Unencumberedby oak, the wine shows white flowersandorchard fruits on the nose with flavors of ripe apple, pear, and a refreshing chalky minerality that lingers on the finish.
