Daniele Piccinin is a trailblazer in Italy’s natural wine movement, farming 12 acres of high elevation vines in the Alpone Valley, northeast of Verona. He is passionate about championing the nearly extinct local grape, Durella, known for its intense acidity. Daniele focuses on natural winemaking, avoiding chemicals in the vineyard and minimizing intervention in the cellar. ‘Larión’ is a blend of skin contact Chardonnay and direct pressed Durella. Fermented with native yeast, the Durella is then aged in oak and the Chardonnay in stainless steel. Fragrant aromas of dried florals, savory herbs, and nectarine, lead to a silky, medium-bodied palate with notes of bruised stone fruit, Meyer lemon, and a juicy, structured finish.
