Cascina Penna-Currado is a family-owned winery in Piedmont, Italy, founded by Elena Penna and Luca Currado Vietti, former owners of the renowned Vietti winery. After leaving Vietti in 2023, they started this new venture with their children, Giulia and Michele, honoring five generations of winemaking in the Langhe. Their 2023 Derthona Timorasso comes from 15-year-old, east-facing vineyards in Berzano di Tortona. It undergoes submerged-cap fermentation to enhance extraction while preserving zesty citrus notes. Aged on the lees in ceramic, it offers aromas of nectarine, white acacia, and a hint of tropical fruit. The palate is structured and creamy, yet crisp, with vibrant acidity and minerality, showcasing the unique Colli Tortonesi terroir.
