Montenidoli’s vineyard land was in bad shape in the mid 1950’s, having been abandoned in the first half of the century by farmers leaving for industrial jobs in bigger cities. After being acquired in the 1960’s by Elisabetta Fagiuoli - a new generation of eloquent but firm winemaking began. Canaiolo is the second traditional red grape behind Sangiovese in Chianti Classico. This rosato welcomes you in with raspberry and fresh tomatoes and progresses into orangle blossom and fresh citrus on the palate. A fuller bodied wine that is crispy and dry from the start and finishes with a long, salted, mineral finish. Enjoy with a summer picnic!
