At Masserie Dugento in southern Salento, owners Giordano Francesco produce Negroamaro from low-yielding vines aged 30 to 60 years. Here, in a coastal area known as the ‘Golden Conch’ just a few kilometers from the sea, the vineyard benefits from ocean breezes that temper the region’s heat. This maritime influence creates a relative fresher expression, contrasting with the full-throlled styles typical of inland sites. The wine reveals ripe plum, cherry compote, warm spice, and wild sage, finishing full and polished with a harmonious balance of ripe fruit and relative elegance.
