In 1999 the Flavo family left the success of their famed Avignonesi estate in Tuscany behind for a new challenge in the Salento peninsula. Here they would give new life to a centuries old winery and create a model for quality winemaking for Southern Italy. Now with their ‘Contrade’ project, they have created a new model and brought the same focus on quality to other local growers. By working with their neighbors in the fields, and paying more for their fruit, The Flavo’s have encouraged them to decrease yields and increase quality. This regional variety is crafted into a crowd-pleasing wine at a stunning value with its juicy and spicy black cherry and blackberry fruit and a smooth finish.
