Mary Taylor created her eponymous label to shift emphasis from the grape to the place. Intended to be approachable and terroir-focused,all wines bearing the Mary Taylor ‘White Label’ do not list the grape on the front but rather the winemaker and appellation. This delightful wine comes to us from Douro, Portugal - the oldest legally designated wine denomination in the world. First established in 1756, this region is known mostly for the Port wine produced here. It wasn’t until the 1990s that a large number of quality table wines made their appearance outside the Douro border. This blend is made in a fresh, elegant style with a palate of blackberries, a mineral backbone, and gentle tannins.
