Martha Stoumen’s story is as fascinating as her wines - young winemaker trains with upstart, natural winemakers on different continents, then returns to her native Northern California to scour the countryside for widely ignored, sun-loving grapes. From these grapes, she proceeds to make some of the most compelling naturally made wines in California, building a loyal and enthusiastic following. This year’s ‘Post Flirtation’ rosé contains Nero d’Avola and Vermentino - this adds exotic flavors, brightness, and complexity. Neutral barrel fermentation softens the wine creating a rounder body along with flavors of ripe strawberry, pomegranate, and rhubarb.
