We rarely use a winemaker’s own notes to describe a wine, but sometimes we just can’t top their whimsical prose that so accurately reflects the personality of the wine. Winemaking prodigy Martha Stoumen describes her red blend as “…the person at the party that talks to everyone, makes perfectly timed jokes, and is versatile enough to end the night debating politics or dancing up on the tables—just depends on what party you’re throwing.”  That’s a remarkably apt description for this ebullient red blend with loads of pomegranate and spiced fig to get your attention, and balanced by enough zippy acid and earthy funk to keep it all evening.
