Liz's Notes:

On my most recent trip to Austria at the end of May, I fell back in love with the city of Vienna. Wine country in Austria is absolutely beautiful, and some of my favorite producers and wines to drink come from there. However, there is nothing like a vineyard in the middle of a bustling Capital city to really make you say 'wow'. Landhaus Mayer, part of the Mayer am Pfarrplatz winery, sources their fruit from vineyards on the slopes within the city limits of Vienna. Only a few wineries call this small region home, and standing amongst the vines, drinking some wine, and looking down into the streets of Vienna is a unique experience. What wine was I drinking? This one. The Landhaus Mayer's current release of their Zweigelt rosé. Delightfully fruit forward, yet zippy, bright, and bursting with fresh red fruit and citrus, this is definitely my go-to this summer.

What's Cooking?

Impossible meat tacos with cheese, radishes, and fresh jalapeño

What do I like to drink?

My go-to region is usually Italy because I am typically cooking up something Italian in my kitchen, it's in my blood. But, Austrian wines have quickly become my standby. After two separate wine trips to the region, I've found that the people, food, and atmosphere in Austria is hard to beat, and can only be matched by the stunningly versatile and delicious wines they produce. Besides those regions, natural and funky are my jam - especially if I can put a light chill on it and enjoy with just some charcuterie and cheese.
