Matt and Sara Licklider of Lioco are masters at sourcing top notch fruit from vineyards throughout northern California. They are largely focused on Sonoma and Mendocino, but this exception from the Santa Cruz Mountains is a worthy one. La Marisma is Lioco’s coldest fruit source to date thanks to the significant influence of the Pacific Ocean just four miles away. Yields are incredibly low, but quality is sky high! The wine is fermented with native yeasts, and aged in neutral barrel. Lioco’s most Chablis-like Chardonnay features green apple, zesty lime, floral jasmine, and a vibrant mineral streak.
