‘Lieu-dit’ is a French term for a small, named parcel of land cared for by dedicated growers. Sommelier Eric Railsback and winemaker Justin Willett chose this name for their winery as an homage to smaller production winemaking in a classic ‘Old World’ style using solely Loire Valley varietals. They believe the ocean influence in both the climate and soil of Santa Barbara is perfect for growing grapes from the famed French region. The Chenin Blanc is fermented and aged in a mix of stainless steel and neutral oak. This process creates a softly structured style with added weight, featuring notes of nectarine, wildflower honey, and crunchy white peach.
