La Mesma was started in 2001 by the Rosina sisters - Paola, Francesca, and Anna - with the simple goal of making wine for family consumption. They eventually expanded their holdings to a total of 25 hectares, quickly emerging as one of the area’s leading voices for artisan Cortese. The sisters make a wide range of Gavi, with ‘le Rose’ coming from red clay soils that make this their most straightforward, yet delicious, bottling.It is vinified in stainless steel, resulting in a bright, refreshing style. Notes of lemon rind, pear, and white flowers lead to a mineral-driven finish. Above all, the sisters’ goal with ‘le Rose’ is supreme freshness and “pleasantness.”
