La Maialina, named for Tuscany’s only surviving heirloom breed of pig, creates a stunning lineup of wines from the rolling hills of the same historic and rustic region. For their ‘baby Super Tuscan’ blend, Attilio leaves behind the stringent rules of Chianti winemaking and blends the international varieties of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon with the native Sangiovese. It rounds out the flavors and creates a broadly appealing wine that still speaks well of its Tuscan terroir. This plush wine is loaded with ripe fruit and sweet spices underscored with just a kiss of Italian earth.
