Region: Marlborough, New Zealand
Grape(s): Sauvignon Blanc
Drinks Best: Now
Katherine's Notes:
This New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc is the perfect fruity summertime refresher. This wine comes from a single vineyard in the Upper Awatere Valley in Marlborough, where the soil and climate all create the ideal conditions for growing these grapes. Kuranni is, in fact, the Maori word for “great treasure.” The multiple ribbons on the label symbolize how the local landscape all flows together harmoniously. With notes of peach, nectarine, and lime - this wine’s nose is as beautiful as its palette. Without excess fruit, acid, or alcohol, this wine is well balanced and refreshing.
What's Cooking?
Cod, or any white fish, in a lemon and olive oil sauce or even a Tuna Poke bowl.
What do I like to drink?
I really enjoy wines that truly quench my thirst. I tend to gravitate towards lighter wines such as Riesling, Grüner Veltliner, Pinot Grigio, and sparkling wines. I often gravitate towards wines that have some fruit and acidic elements, although I do sometimes love to switch it up to something a bit more creamy and full-bodied.
