Scott Schultz only makes 500 cases of wine a year and collaborates with a new artist every year to design fresh new labels for each release. Jolie-Laide translates to “Pretty-Ugly,” a French idiom meant to describe that which is unconventionally beautiful. Scott works alongside several organic growers who farm spectacular vineyard sites throughout California. A simple approach is taken in the cellar - all grapes are left whole cluster, foot crushed, fermented with native yeasts, and aged in neutral oak. The ‘Glou d’Etat’ is a fresh, quaffable red blend that undergoes carbonic maceration resulting in bright, popping aromas of raspberry candy, rose petals, and violets with a juicy, fruit-forward palate of ripe cherry, candied red apple, and soft tannins. Serve with a slight chill!

Pairings: Quesdailla filled with Oaxaca cheese and carnitas
