Intellego Wines, founded in 2009 by Jurgen Gouws, embodies his quest to understand the full potential of the Swartland, a region he now calls home. The name ‘Intellego,’ meaning ‘understand’ in Latin, reflects this philosophy. This is the fourth iteration of ‘The Story of Harry,’ named after a vineyard worker integral to the winemaking process. The wine’s creation is a collaboration between workers, winemakers, and the community. The Chenin Blanc was fermented on the skins for one week, adding texture and a light amber color. After aging for ten months in oak, the wine reveals savory, smoky notes of grilled peach, apricot jam, and wet rock minerality, finishing with white pepper and toasty spices.
