Leo Hillinger sources his fruit for this robust Pinot from the organic and 25-year-old vine Altenberg vineyard. Using some old French barrels to soften the palate and add a hint of smoke over 9 months of aging, this juicy and ripe Pinot is lush with black cherry and is built to pop and pour or can withstand some time in your cellar. It is elegant, and a great wine for those domestic Pinot drinkers looking to dive into the Old World.
