Hedges Family Wines is a winery that began in 1986 by Tom and Anne-Marie Hedges. Their son Christophe is now the general manager and daughter Sarah is the winemaker. This brother sister team focuses on using a more holistic approach to viniculture. The winery is certified biodynamic using chickens to eliminate pests, all vine maintenance and harvest is done by hand, and wines are made with indigenous yeasts. ‘CMS’ will certainly fulfill the idea of a classic Cab, with addition of Syrah and Merlot to provide a softness. Intense fruit range from fresh raspberries to blackberry jam, and aromas bounce around dried herbs and vanilla.
