Region: Sierra Foothills, California, United States Vineyard:Rorick Heritage Grape(s): Chardonnay, Verdelho, and Muscat Drinks Best:Now - 3 Years
Matthew Rorick continues to push the boundaries of California winemaking with his single varietal expressions of obscure grapes and his obscure take on the more common. Their ‘Queen of the Sierra’ wines combine Matthew and Danielle’s creativity, spunk, and affability right in the bottle. The white is mostly Chardonnay which provides a round texture and fresh acidity. Verdelho, a grape mostly associated with the fortified wines of Madeira, brings vibrant notes of lemon and pear fruit to this eclectic white blend. Muscat, known as Moscato in Italy, is extremely perfumed adding plenty of floral aromas and hints of tropical fruit.
