After earning a degree in Economics and spending time abroad, Susanna Grassi returned to her family’s centuries-old Chianti estate, Casole, in 2000. With her sister Maddalena, she revived the long-neglected property, aiming to produce high-quality wines rooted in Tuscan tradition. Their family has owned land in Lamole for over 400 years and once worked as blacksmiths in the village. Today, the sisters farm over 20 acres organically, incorporating some biodynamic methods. Harvested by hand, this wine ferments with indigenous yeasts and matures for 12 months in concrete and French oak. It offers depth and complexity, balancing rich fruit with earthy and herbal undertones while maintaining vibrant lift.
