Domaine Thet is a new producer to enter the US market and has certainly caught our attention. Dmitry Khlopin is a young yet highly accomplished winemaker. He holds an MBA in the wine and spirits business, a PhD in physics and nanotechnology, is a WSET Level 3 sommelier, and is the creator of Optical Cork, a company specializing in wine analysis. It’s no surprise, then, that his wines are beautifully crafted and undeniably delicious. His Champagne method Chenin Blanc is aged on the lees for at least 24 months before disgorgement resulting in aromas of freshly baked bread and golden apples. The palate is vibrant and energetic, with notes of crunchy white peach, pear, and lemon zest, leading to a long, rich finish.
