Domaine Charleux was founded in 1894 by Ferdinand Charleux, just southwest of the town of Santenay. Passed from father to son for four generations, the domaine has slowly and carefully expanded their vineyard holding in and around Santenay and Maranges. Today the family farms the land very similar to the way Ferdinand did more than 120 years ago – hand plows, grass cover crops, and minimal intervention in the cellar. The resulting Bourgogne showcases this exceptional terroir and dedication to tradition. Spicy, ripe cherry and wild red berry fruit is joined by a touch of earth and potpourri spice on the mid-palate, finishing with tart cherry and vibrant acidity.
