Guillaume d’Angerville liked to challenge the wine steward of his favorite Parisian restaurant to bring him a blind wine each visit, but it could not be Burgundy. Guillaume tasted a Chardonnay from the Jura and could have sworn it was a Burgundy, so he immediately began acquiring parcels in the region. The former director of the Marquis d’Angerville estate, Francois Duvivier, also became enchanted with the Jura and took over as estate manager and winemaker. This Savagnin boasts a balance of freshness and classic nuttiness you can expect to find in Juran whites. It is complex with a lingering rich finish that you can continue to ponder.
