Named after Ourea, the god of the mountains in Greek mythology, this Rhone blend comes from some of the highest granite bedrock vineyards in the Grand Montmirail mountains. Winemaker Adrian Roustan has been producing organic wines in this area since 2012 from a handful of vineyards totalling 50 acres. This is an unoaked wine, matured in concrete vats, revealing the deep dark fruit and racy minerality this region is famous for. Grenache provides juicy cherry flavors, Syrah adds heft and earthiness and Cinsault brings tart acidity to the mix. If you love the wines of Chateauneuf du Papes, this is a nearby neighbor that is very much worth a try.
