The Perrachon family has been farming grapes for generations in Julienas, going all the way back to the early 17th century. In 1973, they purchased Chateau Bonnet in the neighboring village of Chénas. Since then, the family’s estate has expanded to include 45 acres of vines spread across Moulin à Vent, Juliénas, Saint-Amour, and Beaujolais-Villages. Their Chénas comes from 50 year old vines that are formed organically. Fruit is harvested by hand, and fermented in concrete vat. The resulting wine is fruity, round, and easy drinking, with notes of strawberry and raspberry.
