Belle-Vue is the only female-owned and operated winery in Lebanon. Winemaker Jill and her husband Naji moved with their children to Lebanon in 2000 to revalitize his family’s land where they decided to plant the noble grapes. Most wines from Lebanon come from the Bekka Valley, but their vineyard is Southeast of and much closer to Beirut. This wine spends 24 months in new French oak and is very much Bordeaux-inspired. ‘La Renaissance’ has beautiful aromas of orange peel, dried fruit, and dark chocolate with flavors of dark berries, plum, mint and anise. Structured tannins have mellowed out a bit with age, and the finish is savory and peppery.  An absolute delight!
