This estate is a little slice of history located in the medieval village of Torre in Pietra just outside of Rome. The cellar has been used for the production and storage of wine since the 16th century. Today, the farm not only has land under vine but also grows olive trees and cereal grains. Certified organic since 2000, the grapes are grown without the use of chemical fertilizers or pesticides. ‘Elephas’ is named after the traces of prehistoric elephants found in the walls of the estate’s ancient cellars. Completely unoaked, this red blend is fresh and fruity featuring bright aromas of red cherry and flower petals. The palate is light with plenty of red berry flavors and gritty tannins on the spicy finish.
