Kenny Likitprakong’s ‘Camp Wines’ label from his Hobo Wine Co. showcases the incredible quality and value that is possible in Sonoma County. Using fruit from responsibly farmed vineyards, and fermenting with native yeasts and real oak barrels (instead of oak chips or other flavor additives), the wine has an uncommon texture and purity for its price. It exhibits plenty of fruit richness with flavors of lemon zest, fresh flowers and baked peaches. It has a creamy texture that’s imparted through malolactic fermentation and ageing in neutral oak barrels, but it remains enticingly clean and balanced on the palate.
