In a cellar immediately adjacent to his parent’s restaurant, where the family sells local food products as well as meals, Xurxo Alba crafts remarkable Albariño. It’s been a family project for several generations, but Xurxo is the one who convinced his parents to make their own wine after he finished oenology school. We’re delighted he was successful, because the wines are memorable! His Albariño is lees aged, giving it a textural component that compliments the vibrant acid and saline palate. Peach, lemon curd, and green apple notes round out one of the more exciting Spanish whites we’ve tried in some time.
