Azienda Agricola Azelia is located in the heart of Barolo and is now run by fifth generation wine producer Lorenzo Scavino and his wife Lorella. This wine uses grapes strictly from two parts of the DOCG; Castiglione Falletto and Serralunga d’Alba. Each contributes to a balanced, modern Barolo with bursts of dark fruit and earthiness that express the overall terroir of the appellation. It is aged in oak for 2 years, giving the wine body and powerful, building tannins.Aromas of dried cranberry and eucalyptus are balanced with perfumed floralscents. Tart raspberryfruit on the palate intertwines with a dusty earthiness that is classic Barolo making it gritty and rustic but also polished and elegant.
