Kabola’s rich winemaking heritage began in 1891 when the Markežić family first started producing wine, tending to the vineyards with the help of their boškarin—the indigenous Istrian ox. Today, Kabola is renowned for its organic and environmentally sustainable practices, maintaining BIO production for both wine and olive oil since 2009. The winery is famous for its use of amphora clay vessels in the winemaking process. Their Malvazija Istarska, a native Croatian grape cultivated in the region for centuries, offers aromas of acacia flowers and mint. The medium-bodied palate features vibrant acidity and flavors of tangerine, Meyer lemon, and white peach with a salty finish.
