If you glance across this shelf, you’ll notice we’re pretty big fans of the R. Lopez de Heredia wines. They make a number of different wines from a small handful of vineyards, and to sample through each one would give you a great example of what happens when Rioja terroir meets traditionalist winemaking. The name Bosconia is a combination of its fruit source, Bosque vineyard, and a reference to ‘Rioja Cepa Borgoña’, a Burgundy-inspired wine the estate used to produce. Today, this is Lopez de Heredia’s most elegant wine, with pretty aromas of red berries and tobacco that is typical of old-school winemaking in Rioja.
