Winemaker Lane Tanner has decades of industry experience under her belt. She was the first independent woman winemaker in Santa Barbara County and is known for producing age-worthy, old-world inspired wines. The Lumen wines are always sourced from sustainably certified and biodynamic vineyards with a focus on cool-climate sites which Lane believes translates into livelier, more complex wines that are worthy of cellaring. The Pinot Noir is aged mostly in neutral oak with just 6% going into new Hungarian oak barrels. This makes for a fresh and balanced California Pinot that shows remarkable complexity with vervy red fruits like dried strawberry and cranberry, aromatic notes of sage and cinnamon spice, and a savory, earthy finish.
