Although connected by a river, wines of the Northern and Southern Rhone are quite different in style. The cooler continental climate in the north influences the wine with a liveliness that Syrah seldom achieves in many other wine growing regions. Laurent Combier, a longtime proponent of organic farming, crafts his Crozes-Hermitage with the wild personality that makes the Syrahs from the region so appealing. Bright and lively in style, and no influence, it’s packed with wild red berry and black cherry fruit accented with notes of cracked white pepper, crushed stones, a savory touch of earth and a vibrant finish.
