Tyler Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir 2021
Region: Santa Rita Hills, California, United States
Grape(s): Pinot Noir
Drinks Best: Now – 5 years
James' Notes:

Justin Willet, winemaker at Tyler, is no longer an up and comer in the California winemaking world, he’s a bonafide rock star. Showcasing a remarkable talent for coaxing power and structure out of Pinot Noir while retaining terroir and vibrancy is his calling card, and the 2021 Santa Rita Pinot features that delightful tension. Dark cherry and red plum on the approach with a deeply satisfying structure, this is an excellent example of California Pinot Noir.

What's Cooking?

Shakshuka with a side of sliced avocado

What do I like to drink?

While I fell in love with wine in California, I’m a Francophile at heart – Burgundy, Champagne, Rhone, and Loire account for the majority of my personal drinking. I love balanced wines with layers of flavor, and wines that pair with a wide variety of food. I probably have the most traditional palate on the team, and I’m okay with that.
