Ilauri 'Salto' Sangiovese 2024

A shared passion for wine united Antonella and Rodrigo Redmont in 2004. Captivated by Loreto Aprutino's alluring landscape and rich agricultural history, they decided to not just make their home there but plant vineyards and a grove of olive trees. They named their project 'Ilauri' after the laurel trees that grow in abundance in the area. Though typically grown in abundance in the Tuscany to the northwest, the warm weather and rich soils of Abruzzo make for a riper, richer style of Sangiovese. A short 3 months aging in oak barrels finishes the wine, showing a raspberry and red plum on the nose followed by a palate of crunchy cranberry fruit that provides freshness and lift on the finish.
