In their home nestled between the rivers Sèvre and Maine, 5 generations of the Braud family have tended to the vines that make up Domine du Fief aux Dames. Once a diverse agricultural hub, the family’s estate is now a bed and breakfast and focuses on growing Melon de Bourgogne in the heart of, arguably, the best region for doing so. Bright, fresh, ripe lemon and tart pear light up the palate of this simple, yet extremely satisfying dry white wine. It remains on the lees (sur lie) for at least 7 months, giving it texture that is pierced by racy acidity and a salinity that really shines with fresh, raw or steamed, seafood.
