While dessert wines may not be as popular today as they once were, Sauternes in particular is one of the great wines of the world and deserves its hard earned reputation as such! Chateau Suduiraut dates back to 1580, and the Chateau’s magnificent gardens were planted by none other than King Louis XIV’s personal gardener. The grape bunches are dried out naturally while they’re still on the vine, requiring a repeated and labor-intensive harvesting process. The resulting wines are luxuriously rich, intensely flavored, and yes – deliciously sweet! Mango marmalade and acacia honey on the palate make for a compelling beginning, or end, to any special meal!
