Arguably the most renowned Chenin Blanc centric appellation in the world, Vouvray lies just east of the town of Tours near central France. The region shows off the flexibility of Chenin Blanc, crafting dry and sweet Chenin, in both still and sparkling styles. Named after the preferred flinty and sandy soil from which this cuvée is sourced, the Cuvée de Silex transparently shows off the great terroir that Bernard Fouquet works. Concentrated notes of honeyed peach and ripe apple compliment fresh acidity on a medium-bodied palate while the terroir’s flinty minerality shines through on this sweet Vouvray.
