Region: Sonoma Coast, California, United States Grape(s): Pinot Noir Winemaker: Jason Kesner Farming: certified sustainable
Kistler is known for producing world-class Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in an old-world, Burgundian style. This family owned and operated winery is located in the Russian River Valley, sourcing grapes from parcels stretching from western Sonoma to just north of San Francisco Bay. This Pinot Noir is sourced from their cooler vineyards in Sonoma, and exudes classic Russian River style with more concentration and structure. 14 months in French oak barrels, 35% of which is new oak, gives this wine more body and beautifully integrated oak characteristics. Layers of black cherry fruit with soft floral and earthy notes are perfectly balanced by a bright acidity brought forth from the cooler, coastal climate.
