Dr. Giuseppe Benanti became a pioneer on the Sicilian wine scene in 1988, despite making wine as a hobby. Just one of 10 producers to grow indigenous varietals on the slopes of volatile Mt. Etna, his example brought attention and acclaim to what is now considered a landmark winemaking region. Now his twin sons, Antonio and Salvino have taken the reigns. They decided to focus their efforts on making Etna wines by expanding their vineyards on the volcano while selling holdings elsewhere on the island. Their entry level red is still incredibly nuanced with red cherry and mixed berry fruit, dried rose petal, and the characteristic volcanic mineral tone of smoky flint.

Pairings:
Grilled pork chop topped with spinach and feta, served with lemon potatoes
