Arnot-Roberts Wines is a collaborative effort between schoolhood friends Duncan Arnot Meyers and Nathan Lee Roberts, founded in 2001. The duo has become one of California’s most progressive producers, known for seeking out distinctive, often extreme vineyard sites from Mendocino County to the Santa Rita Hills. Their approach is grounded in organic and dry farming practices, such as at the Watson Ranch vineyard in the southern Napa Valley. Planted in 1993 by grower Salvador Ramos, this vineyard sits on rare marine deposits over limestone, ideal for world-class Chardonnay. The wine undergoes whole-cluster pressing, native yeast fermentation, full malolactic conversion, and is aged for 10 months in neutral French oak. The result is a medium-bodied, silky wine with aromas of dried flowers, herbs, and creamy notes. The palate offers ripe nectarine, ginger spice, and savory dried herbs.
