Nikki's Notes:

Sandhi Wines is a small-production winery from Sta. Rita Hills founded by two wine superstars - Rajat Parr (of renowned Domaine de la Cote) and Sashi Moorman (of Piedrasassi). They produce wine that is a combination of the beautiful parts we love from both Burgundy and California. The aromatics and flavors in this wine are on a huge spectrum: yellow pear, pineapple, golden delicious apple, lemon custard, and the real curveball… a rocky, flinty minerality that stands up with a brightening acidity. A little less than a year in oak provides a luscious body that really rounds out this nuanced, unique domestic Chardonnay. If you think you hate Chardonnay, you probably don’t! You just haven’t had the right one for you. I encourage you on your journey to give this one a try!

What's Cooking?

Thanksgiving!

What do I like to drink?

My personal order of operations tends to be to choose the wine first, and the food second. With that being said, I am going to naturally lean towards something that is higher in acidity and has plenty of fruit to stand up to food, but not overpower it. I drink it all from Vinho Verdes to a glass of a big Nebbiolo. But as the weather changes, so does my style of wine. Find me in the summer with Txakoli Rosé and in the winter with a bottle of Petite Sirah.
