A DING! A DING! What’s that sound?! It’s the Trolli that just came into town! What Trolli you ask? Why, nothing other than La Boutanche Trollinger! I look forward to the all the La Boutanche releases every year! I love light, fresh, easy drinking wines and this definitely checks all the boxes! Added bonus- it’s a natural wine!
This year’s trollinger, or ‘Grasshopper’ is particularly delightful! Winemaker Andi Knauss uses trollinger grapes from 8 different vineyards from the villages of Schnait and Strümpfelbach. He uses wild yeasts and ferments the wine in stainless steel vats. ‘Grasshopper’ is indicative of the picture on the label which is unique for Andi’s wines that he makes for La Boutanche. This years trollinger is zippy, crisp, bright with balanced acidity and notes of cranberry and red apple. All I could think about while drinking this bottle was the greatest meal of them all- Thanksgiving dinner!
What's cookin' in Cat's kitchen?
A big roasted turkey with all the fixings not your thing in the heat of August? Stop by (ish) delicatessen and scoop up their Turkey Reuben to crush with this bottle!!
What do I like to drink?
Right now, I’m all about Lambrusco! From dolce to dry, the effervescent Lambrusco is the swiss army knife of wines! It’s fantastic on its own but can be made into fun batch cocktails for your next get together!
