Pentimento Côtes de Bordeaux Rouge 2018
Region: Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux , Bordeaux, France Grape(s): 75 Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc Drinks Best: Now - 5 Years
If there’s any time to drink Bordeaux, it’s Christmas. I love a full bodied earthy red to keep me warm in the winter. I love ‘Pentimento’ because it’s a wonderful representation of a well-integrated Bordeaux. This bottle has 5 years of age on it, which allows the secondary and tertiary notes of leather, damp earth, and fallen leaves to shine. The age also gives the tannins a chance to settle in, which creates a velvety texture across the palette, rather than a harsh attack than can sometimes come with big wines. Although this wine is primarily merlot, I think this would satisfy all the cabernet and big bold red drinkers in your life. This wine deserves a place on your Christmas table!

What do I like to drink?
If I’m shopping for wine, most often I’m looking for an easy drinking light bodied red that still has some structure and non-fruit notes to it. I love anything that can be drank on its own while binging Netflix but enjoyed with dinner too. If I’m not drinking still red wine, I’m a sucker for bubbles. I love funky Pet Nats, classic Champagnes, and everything in between.
