Franck is a unique winemaker in Beaujolais, known for his innovative approach. After inheriting 4 hectares of high-elevation Gamay vines near Jullié from his father-in-law, he recognized the potential of the terroir, despite it being outside the Cru designation. Franck’s pet-nat rosé is sourced from 50-year-old, organically farmed vines in the Chenas lieu-dit En Remont, planted in granite-rich soil at over 900ft elevation. Fermented whole-cluster in cement vats using native yeasts and no added SO2, it finishes fermentation in the bottle creating frothy bubbles. Aromas of strawberry shortcake lead to a palate of ripe pink grapefruit, raspberry, and pink Starburst candy, with a clean, zippy finish.
