Not quite German, not quite French, Alsace is a unique place and culture, situated along a border that has been disputed more than a few times over the centuries. Domaine Pfister has resided here for nearly 250 years and is now firmly in the hands of Melanie Pfister, who crafts her family wines while her allegedly retired father tends the vines. ‘Breit’ is an abbreviation of the vineyard where all of the grapes are farmed, and the finished product is an ideal example of what Alsace can be in the hands of skilled craftswoman – green apple and melon on the palate with a precise, inviting mid-palate and a clean, refreshing finish.
